Pro Tips for Albion Basin from a local

Timing is Key – Do yourself a favor and don’t even attempt to do a session here at sunset. It is absolute chaos. There is a very small parking lot with access to the meadow, and they will only let vehicles through to drive up to this parking lot when a spot becomes available - which means you could be waiting in line for 45-90 minutes while the sun disappears. I highly recommend sunrise - while it is really early in the summertime, you’ll skip the crowds and virtually have the whole place to yourself and a few hikers enjoying the trail.

Dress Comfortably – The terrain can be uneven, so wear shoes that allow you to move easily.

Check the Weather – Mountain weather can change quickly. Be prepared for cooler temperatures, especially in the mornings.

STAY ON THE TRAIL.

As tempting as it is to want to pick flowers, run through the meadow, or place yourself in the perfect spot surrounded by flowers for a photo - stay within the trail ropes, and the photo pullouts.
